BlueStar is restaurant equipment built for a house, and it is serviced accordingly.
Open burners, very high output, a heavy cast grate deck and a broiler that behaves like a commercial salamander. There is less electronics here than on any other line we service and more raw heat, so the faults are mechanical and thermal: ignition, gas flow, thermostats, and hardware that has been cycled through extreme temperatures for years.
The upside is that BlueStar equipment is genuinely repairable. The parts are serviceable rather than sealed, and a range that looks tired is usually one burner assembly and a thermostat away from behaving like new.
Every BlueStar repair carries our one-year warranty on parts and labor, we fit genuine OEM components only, and the $89 diagnostic is waived when you go ahead with the work.

Open burner will not light or lights unevenly
Open burners take spills directly. Blocked ports, a cracked electrode or a burner not seated flat account for nearly every ignition complaint, and cleaning is genuinely part of the repair rather than an upsell.
Oven not holding temperature
Thermostat or sensor, and on the gas ovens the safety valve. In a heavy oven the symptom shows first as long recovery after the door has been opened.
Salamander broiler weak or not igniting
The infrared broiler runs hotter than anything else in the kitchen and its igniter and burner suffer for it. It is a serviceable assembly.
Simmer burner running too hot
The low-output burner depends on a correctly sized orifice and clean ports; a simmer that scorches is usually one of those two, not a control.
Oven door out of alignment
Hinges and springs on a heavy door, exactly as on the other professional ranges. A door that seals badly costs temperature and gas.
French-door oven latch and hinge wear
The double-door ovens add hardware that eventually needs adjustment; it is a mechanical repair and a quick one.

Can open burners be cleaned rather than replaced?
Almost always. Blocked ports are the single most common BlueStar complaint and cleaning is part of the repair, not an extra.
Is BlueStar harder to get parts for than Sub-Zero or Wolf?
It is a smaller manufacturer, so fewer parts ride on the van, but the parts themselves are straightforward and available. You will know the part, the price and the date before we leave.
Do you work on the outdoor grills?
Yes — and coastal corrosion on burners and igniters is worth catching before a season rather than during one.
