An oven that heats but cooks wrong is a repair. An oven that does not heat at all is usually a cheaper one.
The most common oven complaint we hear is not "it does not work" — it is "everything comes out wrong". Uneven browning, a preheat that never finishes, a roast that takes half an hour longer than it used to. That is temperature drift, and it is a sensor or a thermostat, not an oven at the end of its life.
The second most common is a self-clean lockout: the cycle runs, the door latch does not release, and the oven refuses to work at all afterwards. It looks catastrophic and it is a latch.
Symptoms

Bakes unevenly or browns on one side
Temperature sensor drift or a convection fan that has slowed. We verify against a calibrated probe rather than trusting the oven’s own display.
Never reaches the set temperature
Sensor, element or relay board. On dual-fuel ranges a working cooktop tells you nothing about the oven, since they are separate systems.
Dead after a self-clean cycle
The door latch has not released and the control is locking the oven out. A common, quick and inexpensive repair.
Gas oven slow to light
The glow-bar igniter weakening — it still glows but no longer draws enough current to open the valve. It is measurable, and it is worth doing before it fails completely.
Convection fan noisy or stopped
Fan motor bearing. A stopped fan quietly turns a convection oven into an uneven conventional one.
Steam oven errors or weak steam
Scale. In this water, descaling on schedule is maintenance; skipping it turns into a boiler replacement.
