Star burners, ExtraLow simmer, Freedom induction, Sapphire dishwashers and the wine and refrigeration columns all lean on control electronics and sensors. When a Thermador misbehaves, the display usually has an opinion about why — and that opinion is right often enough to be dangerous, because it names the sensor rather than the reason the sensor is reading strangely.
We read the fault code, then verify the component it accuses. That order is the whole difference between a repair that lasts and a board replacement that changes nothing.

ExtraLow simmer burners cycling wrong
The simmer function pulses the burner rather than running it low; when the control or its sensor drifts, the pulse goes wrong and food scorches or never heats. It reads as a burner fault and is usually a control one.
Induction cooktop zone dead or error-coding
On Freedom induction tops a single dead zone is normally that zone’s coil or its board section rather than the whole surface — worth knowing before anyone quotes a full cooktop.
Wall oven not heating or failing self-clean
Element, relay board, or a door latch that has not fully released after a clean cycle. The latch is the one people never guess and it locks the oven out entirely.
Dishwasher not draining or not drying
On the Sapphire and Star-Sapphire machines, drain faults are usually the pump or a blocked check valve; poor drying is often the fan or the sensor that controls it, not the heater.
Refrigeration column temperature drift
Evaporator fan, defrost circuit or sensor. On wine columns a two-degree drift is a real fault, not a tolerance, and it is worth diagnosing quickly.
Display showing service codes
We read the code and test what it blames. Boards are replaced when they are proven bad, not when they are convenient.
